For some people, their relationship with food is a difficult one and it affects them not just physically but mentally too.
There are four common eating disorders but it is possible to develop more than one or to experience symptoms from each disorder:
Bulimia nervosa - Binge eating and then purging through vomiting or laxatives.
Anorexia nervosa – distorted image of self - seeing self as overweight, even when dangerously underweight.
Binge eating disorder (BED) - difficulty with stopping during a binge, continues to eat, even when very full, sometimes feeling disconnected from what they're doing. Often a planned ritual and done in secrecy.
Other specified feeding or eating disorder (OSFED) - symptoms don't match anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder exactly.
Scientists have differing opinions of the causes of eating disorders; however, it does seem clear that they are emotionally driven.
There may be one or several events in your life that are still having a negative impact on the way you feel and view yourself, those around you and the world in general.
You may not even know, on a conscious level, what those events are or be aware of all the different ways that they may be affecting you.
Through a combination of psychotherapy, analytical hypnotherapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), emotional freedom techniques (EFT) and mindfulness, I can help you to identify those events and release and let go of the negative emotions that are currently driving the eating disorder and preventing you from living a healthy and happy life.
Don’t continue with your unhealthy relationship with food, contact me today and let me help you.
